History of School

Chadean Syrian Higher Secondary School was established by His Grace Metropolitan Abimaleck Mar Timotheus in the year 1927 The first S S L C batch passed out in 1941 March. When the school celebrated its Silver Jubilee there were 982 students & 42 staff. In 1953 , the first N C C troop was started in this school & half of the students in the troop were girls. By the tremendous work of Dr. Mar Poulose Metropolitan , we got Higher Secondary section in the year 1998. We have two Science batches & one Commerce batch. Our Higher secondary section is one of the best higher secondary in Kerala itself.

We started English medium classes in 2004. Now above thousand students ( both boys & girls ) are empowered with the help of 40 staff in this school. We have a wonderful playground & a reputed history in the football field. We have a good laboratory & colorful library full of World famous books and a smooth running computer lab. Moreover a new building for High School is under construction at the back of our building. We, staff & students are feeling more secure under our beloved Headmistress Smt. Annie Francis C. with the help of our patron Mar Aprem Metropolitan our school is progressing step by step.

We have a colorful victory of 100% result in the S S L C examination for the year March 2008 which is golden plume in the school History. When we are celebrating our 82 nd Anniversary and also our meritocratic day the retired HMs who served our school , our Trustee members ,etc. were present.

FAMOUS OLD STUDENTS

We have a very supporting & co-operative O S A. The famous old students were Mar Timotheous Metropolitan, Dr. Poulose Mar Poulose Metropolitan, Dr. Mar Aprem Metropolitan. double Doctrate degrees. etc. are our distinguished & memorable old students. By the tremendous work of Late. Miss. Thressia Nellangara (World Bank Employee) who was an old student of our school, we are helping about 150 students of our school in their studies economically. Apart from these many doctors, Lawyers, teachers, & many labourers are the products of this school.

AWARDS FOR TEACHERS STUDENTS

Our teachers are the best in their curricular & non curricular activities. Our old Foot ball team in 1946 was very famous in Kerala itself . They had played for Subradho Mukkerji Cup & was a member in District Football Association. More over our students have got many prizes in Sub District , District, & National levels in Kalamelas, sports, & games.

There are 11 divisions in U P section &10 divisions in H S section. There is one English medium class for each standard. About 1000 pupils are studying here.

OTHER ACTIVITIES IN THE SCHOOL

There is well organized N C C troop & Guides troop under the leadership of Lt. Jeen Mookken & Smt .Saji T Mathew Teacher. Last year we got many prizes for N C C & Guides for participating in different functions. Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Eco clubs are functioning in a well established manner. We got 3 rd position in district Science Exhibition & got many individual prizes. Our Science Club is selected as one of the best Science Clubs in Thrissur District last year. Our students participated in Kalamelas in Sub-district & District levels & got prizes. Thus our school is flourishing in all directions day by day.
