The school is
situated in Ward no: 12 of Puranattukara in the Adat Gramapanchayath, and
Kunnamkulam Legislative in Thrissur (Dt).
The school has a strength of
1485 girls (from Std 5 to +2) and 66 staff. It is an aided school situated on a calm, beautiful land of 3.5
acres
The main feature of this
institution is that it gives much importance to the character formation of the
girls, following the ideal of Swami Vivekananda, the foremost disciple of Sri
Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.

“Education is the
manifestation of PERFECTION already in man”
Swami
Vivekananda
Swamiji proclaimed that the
aim of education is to build up one’s character and to help one to stand on
one’s own feet. To achieve this goal education should stand on the basis of the
eternal principles of religion, which
is the same for all religions. Only
then one can acquire the essential values of life which in turn build up the
character of individuals. So scriptural classes are given to teachers These are
transmitted to the girls along with the academic subjects and also through
weekly moral classes, standing within the limitations of an aided school. Youth camps are also
organized for the senior students. Spirituality is the strong basis on which
our nation stands firmly for centuries and should stand forever.
Emblem

The wavy waters symbolizes
karma, Lotus - Bhakti(devotion) & the Rising Sun - Jnana (knowledge), The
encircling Serpent symbolizes Yoga & awakened Kundalini Sakti (the cosmic
power residing hidden in every individual). The Swan symbolizes Paramatman
(Supreme Spirit).
The
idea is that by the union of Karma, Jnana, Bhakti & Yoga the vision of the
Paramatman is obtained.
The school keeps up a good
academic standard also. Usually it gets
above 98% and occasionally 100% result in the SSLC and PLUS TWO
Examinations. As a school in the rural
area it can be considered as a good achievement. The students actively participate in
co-curricular activities and win prizes in district and state level
competitions. There are handball and
volleyball teams in the school, which are selected for district and state level
competitions. There is a GUIDE unit –
NIVEDITA GUIDE unit and also an NCC unit.
The school undertakes projects such as
elimination of plastics, which causes pollution, rainwater harvesting, and
making compost from waste etc. Plastic
waste is prohibited in the school compound and cloth bags are produced in work
experience section to reduce the use of plastic bags. So also, instead of ball pens ink pens are encouraged. There are vegetable, herbal and flower
gardens in the compound enhancing the beauty of the school premises.
Recently the Malayala Manorma selected
our school for constructing a reservoir for collecting rainwater and 20,000-lr
tank was built. A large vermiform
compost tank also has been constructed using the financial help from the
Panchayat and it is now used to convert the waste in the school, to effective
manure.
A good number of the old students
adorn good positions in society such as doctors, engineers, teachers etc. Beyond
that they are good citizens of the society and ideal mothers of the families,
thus fulfilling the sole aim of education.
